“Very clumsily”Anny Duperey backpedals and affirms in a press release reported by AFP that she condemns “obviously, any action of rape or abuse of seductive power whether it takes place against adults and especially children and of adolescents”.

At the microphone of RTL this Sunday February 11, the actress deplored “witch hunts”after statements from Judith Godrèche who accuses directors Benoît Jacquot and Jacques Doillon of rape when she was a minor. “I’m going to get punched but I think this is all extremely exaggerated”she said.

The anger of Alexandra Lamy

Comments which quickly sparked controversy and to which actress Alexandra Lamy reacted in particular, stating on her X account: “They are not witches, they are rapists, criminals (…) Thank you Ms. Duperey, on behalf of all the victims, of all those who have the courage to speak, to ask them now to be silent because this been too long.”

In response to these accusations, Anny Duperey said this Sunday evening: “I have always ardently defended the cause of women, personally and by participating in a number of demonstrations in favor of this cause, for which there is still so much to do (…) What I wanted, very awkwardly, I agree, because it is beneficial for the victims to finally speak out, after such a long silence, it is to temper the media hype.”

In her press release, the 76-year-old actress also emphasizes being “godmother for more than 30 years of an association in favor of the defense of children” and having been “one of the first signatories for the release of Jacqueline Sauvage”.
