The Russian war in Ukraine is also casting its shadow over schools in the district. There is a great need for discussion among the students and teachers, but also the desire to help and to take a stand against the war. In Vaterstetten, middle school, junior high school and high school have now organized a day under the motto “Humboldt helps”: On Friday there was a collection of donations for the victims of the war, and the young people from the three schools set a visible sign against Baldham with a chain of lights war, persecution and oppression. Equipped with candles and self-made posters, the human chain led from the secondary school via the S-Bahn to the Humboldt-Gymnasium to the middle school. The action ended with the ringing of church bells and a minute’s silence for all victims of the conflict in Eastern Europe.
