Rest area in Vaterstetten:Truck driver found with serious stab wounds
A truck driver has become the victim of an attempted homicide near Vaterstetten.

The police officers were able to arrest a suspect on the spot, he is now in custody. So far, however, nothing is known about his motive.

A truck driver was found with serious injuries in the driver’s cab of his vehicle at the rest area on the A99 motorway near Vaterstetten. When the police officers arrived at the scene around 9:30 p.m. last Friday, they found that the man had apparently been stabbed. The 54-year-old was immediately taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses finally drew the attention of the emergency services to a man who was hanging around near the scene of the crime with a “stabbing tool”, as the responsible police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North wrote in a press release. The police were able to overpower and arrest the suspect. The Erding criminal police took over the investigation into the course of the crime that night.
So far, however, nothing is known about the motive of the alleged perpetrator. At the request of the Munich II public prosecutor’s office, an arrest warrant was issued against the 50-year-old on the following Saturday on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. He was transferred to a detention center.
