Even when cleaning your teeth, in the taxi, on the playground – everyone wants to know: Are you planning a vacation? Vacation planned? I only noticed how often since I happened to not have a vacation planned this year. Or rather, nothing presentable, i.e. not something that can be returned somewhere quickly in two weeks. The questioners, however, have different expectations than if it were only a matter of what one is planning to do at the weekend. The answer “Oh, actually nothing” is quite acceptable, because at least you can still say: “Oh, that’s nice too.” Yes, exactly.
