If you look at the entire globe, as an International Criminal Court should do, then there are certainly much crueler warlords than Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has ruled for a total of 16 years. You only have to look next door, in the neighboring country of Syria – unmolested by the International Criminal Court – there is a second-generation dictator, Bashar al-Assad, who has made tens of thousands of people disappear into torture chambers, has barrel bombs dropped on residential areas and doesn’t even pretend to be he, like Netanyahu, would have to wage a fundamentally legitimate defensive war.
