“We are in the planning stage. We will not train for the sake of training,” Farke explained to the Rheinische Post. “So we’ll probably send the boys on vacation relatively soon after the last competitive game.”
Farke also explained what will happen next. The Gladbach coach wants to “start training again in early or mid-December in order to have proper preparation like in summer.” It remains to be seen how the clubs will deal with the unusual break and whether teams with few World Cup drivers will have an advantage.
Farke, meanwhile, doesn’t necessarily think hosting the World Cup in winter is the best decision: “I grew up with the World Cup every four years in summer and I like it too.
