Ursula Cantieni died: Popular “Fallers” actress is dead

The actress Ursula Cantieni is dead. The actress of Johanna Faller from the Black Forest series “The Fallers“ died on Tuesday night at the age of 75, as reported by Südwestrundfunk (SWR).

“All of us at SWR are dismayed and deeply sad – Ursula Cantieni was one of us,” says Kai Gniffke, SWR director and ARD chairman: “But she not only gave the SWR a face and a voice, but also the people in the south-west. With her warmth, with her wisdom, with her charm and with her wonderful sense of humor. A woman we will never forget.”

“With Ursula Cantieni, not only has one of the greats in SWR left us, but also a woman who has radiated a lot of warmth, openness and warmth throughout her life,” becomes SWR program director Clemens Bratzler quoted. “I also valued her immensely for that, since I met her on a show more than 20 years ago – back then as a young presenter. Since then we have kept in touch personally… Ursula will not only be missed by me, but by many who loved and adored her. With the Fallers, but also with ‘Tell the Truth’, where she exposed the swindlers in the advice team for years with her inimitable, charming and humorous manner. This is how she will be remembered by all of us.”

Born in Switzerland, Ursula Cantieni grew up in Stuttgart from the age of nine. Her love was for language right from the start: at the age of 27 she became a professor for speech training at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. Her first theater station was the Württembergische Landesbühne in Esslingen; her multiple award-winning acting career began there.
