A truck went off the road in the Upper Palatinate near black ice and hit the guardrail – the highway was completely closed, as the police announced on Monday. The accident occurred on Autobahn 93 near Weiden, and the truck driver slipped his vehicle into the central barrier. Nobody was injured on Monday morning.
However, the German Weather Service (DWD) warns of slippery roads caused by freezing rain, especially in eastern Bavaria. In the morning a truck was standing across the road in the direction of the courtyard. Several minor accidents had also occurred in the opposite direction in the region around Weiden. The A93 is currently completely closed in both directions for rescue work.
