Upper Bavaria: 41-year-old had an accident on Wendelstein – Bavaria

A 41-year-old man died on the Wendelstein on Saturday. As the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South announced, the lifeless man was discovered by a skier in the afternoon in the area of ​​the “Zeller Scharte” on the northern side of the mountain, below the so-called “hotel slope”. Any help came too late for the victim. The Alpine task force (AEG) of the police assumes an accident, there is no evidence of outside involvement.

The rescue took place under adverse conditions. Specially trained alpine police officers and 30 members of the Brannenburg and Bayrischzell mountain rescue services were on duty to bring the body to the Wendelstein cog railway and from there by train to the valley.

The 41-year-old who died in the accident was a Czech national who lived in the Starnberg district. The police are looking for information about the accident, witnesses are asked to call the Brannenburg police inspection on 08034/90680.
