up to 60 kilometers of traffic jams on the return from the Ascension weekend on the roads of the department

Nothing surprising, the forecasts had announced it. After a busy Ascension weekend in terms of departures, it is now a tedious return that awaits motorists. Nearly 40 kilometers of traffic jams are concentrated on the A10 coming from the north of the department towards the Gironde capital, while the site smart one announces that around twenty kilometers of traffic jams awaited drivers coming from Arcachon and the south of Gironde on the A63 towards Bordeaux in the morning.

The Waze GPS app specifies that cars are “bumper to bumper” on a large part of the highway once entering the department. The most congested portions would be between Cestas and Gradignan, and Belin-Béliet and Marcheprime.

The A630, which encircles the towns of the Bordeaux metropolis, also experiences traffic jams. In total, the traffic jams extend for almost 10 km.

The Viamichelin website indicates other arteries in the Gironde popular with drivers, particularly in the heart of the metropolis. The N230 between Sainte-Eulalie and the Bordeaux ring road experiences slowdowns of almost 8 km in one direction or the other.

Note that other complications are forming on the D1250 near Marcheprime towards Bordeaux, on the A62 from Martillac to Villenave-d’Ornon, and on the D106 near Lège-Cap-Ferret.
