Unterschleißheim – Workshop on multi-generational living – District of Munich

MGC Projekt Unterschleißheim GmbH, based in Grünwald, would like to develop the new quarter called “Multi-generational living” on Kreuzstraße in Lohhof-Süd with the city of Unterschleißheim as a partner. One of the managing directors behind the MGC is Andreas Bader, head of the BG real estate group in Eichenau, which has already built several senior centers in the region. According to the first sketches, the multi-generational living quarter should also include point buildings, multi-storey apartments and terraced houses as well as a daycare center, shops and green spaces in addition to a facility for senior citizens. A new road link from Kreuzstrasse to Stadionstrasse is planned. The details of all of this are still largely open.

In the new Consul dialogue forum, more than 400 citizens have already submitted 31 suggestions for playgrounds and green spaces and given tips on the route and individual turning situations. The city councilors now want to develop guidelines for the project in a workshop at the beginning of March. The City Council has decided that the factions will send representatives to the workshop in proportion to their size. The Greens had recently complained that far-reaching thought games for the quarter were being made before a natural technical examination of the fallow area had even been carried out. Meanwhile, the CSU expressly welcomed the prospect of traffic relief for the existing residential area in Lohhof-Süd.

Mayor Christoph Böck (SPD) agreed to talk about all important aspects such as the environment, mobility, housing and social issues in the workshop. It’s all about the question: “How should life take place there?” The majority of the city council refused to bring in additional speakers from the building authority for the consultation because of the traffic problem, as requested by the Greens, and, as demanded by the AfD, to give the spokesmen of the parties in the city council a place in the workshop. The FDP and AfD spoke out against the workshop. Last December, the city council decided to draw up a development plan for the area. The task now is to develop a concept as a basis for further discussions.
