Unterschleißheim – 2.2 tons of garbage collected – District of Munich

Unterschleissheim:2.2 tons of garbage collected

They found car tires, bumpers, brake discs, a bicycle, a sofa, a rusted oil drum and much more: around 730 people recently collected around 2.2 tons of garbage within two hours when Unterschleißheim first took part in World Cleanup Day. A large part of the helpers came from the middle school, which was represented by 400 pupils, 50 teachers and a few parents. In Riedmoos, the fire brigade organized the campaign with SV Riedmoos. Daycare centers were there, the family center, the Pfennigparade, the water watch, the Aggaschnoin dirndl, the Bund Naturschutz and many families. Companies supported the campaign that the Agenda team organized in less than four months. World Cleanup Day is a global day of action aimed at removing rubbish from the environment. It was carried out for the first time in Australia in 1989. The project will be implemented worldwide on the same day, so an awareness for the global waste problem should be created.
