Unknown steal 183 tons of iron scrap – Bavaria

Around 183 tons of scrap iron were stolen by unknown persons at the Parsberg train station (Neumarkt district in the Upper Palatinate). According to the federal police on Thursday, the damage amounts to around 86,000 euros. Tracks are currently being renewed on the train route between Parsberg and Neumarkt. Meanwhile, the old tracks were stored at Parsberg station. According to the federal police, the perpetrator or perpetrators took around 177 tons of rail scrap and five bags of small iron. This was probably done with a crane and a truck. The crime period was probably between March 6th and 7th, it said.
