The CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag wants to question Economics Minister Habeck and his State Secretary Graichen again. The reason is “new facts” about Graichen’s role in filling the top posts of dena’s management.

The CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag wants to question Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck and his State Secretary Patrick Graichen (both Greens) again before the responsible committee.

Both have come under criticism because of the so-called best man affair and should now comment again. This emerges from a letter from the Union faction that ARD Capital Studio present.

According to Union, there are new facts

Habeck and Graichen had already answered questions from MPs last week, albeit behind closed doors. In the renewed invitation, the Union is pushing for a public meeting.

During the first survey, “new facts about the role of State Secretary Graichen in filling the position of the chairman of the German Energy Agency management came out,” which now have to be clarified. The Union proposes May 24 as the date.

Habeck wants to hold on to Graichen. But the affair surrounding the Secretary of State is not over.

Which obligations was there opposite shepherd?

In the next survey, the Union wants to find out, among other things, what contractual obligations there are to Michael Schäfer. The climate protection expert was originally supposed to become the managing director of the German Energy Agency (dena).

In addition, it should deal with questions of compliance, i.e. the observance of certain rules and codes of conduct, in the ministry.

Graichen has been under criticism for some time because he was involved in an application process at the end of which his best man was given the job of managing director of the state-owned dena. Habeck and Graichen now speak of a mistake. The application process is to be rolled out again.
