Ukraine-News: Ukraine wants to operate grain corridor without Russian guarantees

Sweden unveils multi-year reconstruction aid plan for Ukraine. Between July 2023 and the end of 2027, Ukraine should receive support worth six billion Swedish crowns (equivalent to around 522 million euros) benefit, says the Minister for Development and Foreign Trade, Johan Forssell, to journalists. It is the intention of the Swedish government not to “restore what was there before” – but to “build something new, greener” in Ukraine.

Kiev is also pursuing this goal, Forssell continues. The funds from Sweden are to be used for Ukraine’s public infrastructure – including investments in educational institutions, the health system and the supply of renewable energy. The country’s economy and Swedish-Ukrainian trade are to be boosted via incentives for entrepreneurs, help in the fight against corruption and transparency. The Goals are also consistent with Ukraine’s aspirations to join the EU.
