Given the Ukrainian offensive to recapture Kherson the Russian occupation authorities in the southern Ukrainian region have the Evacuation of tens of thousands more people announced. “We will resettle and relocate up to 70,000 people,” said the Moscow-appointed governor of Kherson, Vladimir Saldo, in a live radio broadcast. The people on one are affected 15 km wide strip east of the Dnipro River.
The Russian army announced last week that 70,000 civilians had evacuated their homes on the west bank of the Dnipro. Saldo says the new evacuations are one, given the risk “possible missile attack” on a dam been decided on the river that could lead to flooding of the left bank.
According to the governor, the evacuations have already begun, they would now be in Cherson or “other regions of Russia” expanded. Saldo does not give any details.
