Two years after the attack
No more “special operations”: Kremlin speaks of “state of war” with Ukraine
Russia has so far described the war of aggression against Ukraine as a “special operation”. But in an interview, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov now says something different – and blames “the West”.
More than two years after the start of the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, the Kremlin has admitted that Russia is “at war” with Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with the Russian weekly “Argumenty i Fakty” published on Friday: “We are in a state of war. Yes, this started as a special military operation, but since (…) the entire West is on sides Ukraine is involved, it has become a war for us.”
