Two young men died on the night of Saturday to Sunday in Limoges, Haute-Vienne, while trying to escape a police check, learned Le Figaro from a police source, confirming information fromNews17. The driver of the scooter died instantly at 00:45. His passenger, seriously injured, was first taken to hospital before succumbing to his injuries at 1:30 a.m. The driver of the car and his children were not injured.

In a press release posted on Twitter, Mayor Émile Roger Lombertie deplored the occurrence of this “tragic accident” : “It seems that a refusal to comply led to behavior that will have endangered the two passengers of the scooter which came to hit a vehicle with a father and his young children on board. They remain shocked and traumatized.”

This tragedy triggered a brief episode of urban violence before calm returned. “No amount of violence will allow the driver of the vehicle hit and his children to forget this terrible end of the evening.
