Two years in prison for setting fire to his ex-girlfriend’s car

A 21-year-old man and his cousin were sentenced to two years in prison, including six months, by the Béziers criminal court. On November 16, in the sub-prefecture of Hérault, the two men set fire to a car parked in the place of the residence reserved for the ex-companion of the first named. It was his aunt’s car.

The vehicle was totally ablaze, as well as two cars parked next to it. The fire had spread through the building to the point of affecting three apartments. At the helm, the two men with clean criminal records admitted the facts, explaining their state of intoxication at that time, but denied having wanted to attack the ex-companion.

In addition to the prison sentence, there is an obligation to work and to repair the damage. They will also have to compensate the aunt for material and moral damage.
