Two teenagers aged 15 and 16 arrested

They acted “out of defiance” after finding “models” of threatening messages on social networks. The Toulouse public prosecutor’s office indicated this Tuesday that two minors aged 15 and 16 were arrested on Monday at their home after false bomb threats occurred in several high schools in Haute-Garonne on the eve of the All Saints’ Day holidays. On Thursday, October 20, six establishments in the metropolis had to be evacuated at the same time.

The two young people, whose electronic trace was found by investigators from the territorial service of the judicial police (STPJ), admitted “the entire facts” during their custody, specifies Samuel Vuelta-Simon, the prosecutor of the Republic.

They risk two years in prison

The two teenagers, unknown to the justice services and the police, were presented this Tuesday to a children’s judge. They are being prosecuted for “false alarms with the aim of making people believe in the commission of destruction dangerous to people”. They face, notes the prosecution, “a sentence of two years of imprisonment” and are subject to provisional educational measures while awaiting a trial hearing scheduled for January 22.
