Two “squirrels” perched again to prevent the felling of century-old oaks

No respite for the “squirrels” who watch over the trees along the route of the A69 motorway between Castres and Toulouse. Two of them took the lead by climbing on Sunday on “centenary oaks” located in Lacroisille, in Tarn, where land clearing work is already going well.

In a video, broadcast this Monday morning, one of them is perched with a bird’s eye view of the gendarmes. The collective La Voie est libre (LVEL) calls on supporters to come and support the climbers. According to information from opponents, the oaks must be cut down this Tuesday.

Alongside this new militant action, the anti-A69 also announced for November 1 the departure of a “ Cyclotour » four days between Toulouse and Castres, punctuated by festive events during the stopovers in Verfeil (Wednesday), Loubens-Lauragais (Thursday), Appelle (Friday) and Castres (Saturday). The joyful procession will follow the route of the “National Cycle Route” that opponents propose to build along the current national highway.
