Two shells and an anti-tank mine discovered during a construction site in a public garden

This sector of Toulouse does not bear the name of Cartoucherie for nothing. Ten years ago, a specialized company had found no less than 50,000 ammunition, shells but also authentic cannonballs from the Second Empire, during the depollution of this former factory site de l’Armement of 27 hectares now transformed into an eco-district.

But on the outskirts, there are still some traces of this past. This is what a company that was carrying out work in the Barry public garden saw today. While digging, she came across two shells and an anti-tank mine. This discovery, made around 3 p.m., led to the establishment of a security perimeter.

The deminers carried out the defusing of these explosive devices and a dozen firefighters, as well as the police went to the site as reinforcements. Before leaving the scene once clearance is complete.
