In Seine-Saint-Denis, two men were placed in pre-trial detention as part of judicial investigations opened for spousal homicide after two femicides that occurred last weekend, we learned this Thursday from the Bobigny prosecutor’s office. .
The number of femicides increased by 20% in France in 2021 compared to the previous year, with 122 women killed under the blows of their spouse or ex-spouse, against 102 in 2020, according to figures from the Ministry of the Interior .
The “feminicide protocol” put in place for children
The first homicide took place on Saturday in Bondy where a 34-year-old woman was found unresponsive at her home by the emergency services. Two children, among the five who were at home, had taken refuge with neighbours. After a long cardiac massage, the victim was transported to the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital in Paris where she died.
His 37-year-old companion was placed in pre-trial detention on Monday and a judicial investigation was opened for intentional homicide by spouse. The children, aged 1 to 11 and whose parentage is not established, were not injured. They were taken care of under the “feminicide protocol”, which provides for temporary placement and sheltering, in addition to pediatric and psychological care, said the prosecution.
The author admitted the facts
Barely two days after these facts, a 51-year-old woman was stabbed to death in a social hotel in Sevran, on the night of Sunday to Monday. “Around 2:30 a.m., the police were called by the receptionist (…) for a woman discovered inanimate in a room, lying on the bed, bloodied,” the Bobigny prosecutor’s office told AFP. Despite being taken care of by the emergency services, the victim was pronounced dead at 3:24 a.m. His companion was arrested on the spot.
According to a police source, the suspect admitted to being the perpetrator. Thirteen stab wounds were recorded on the victim’s body and a long kitchen knife was seized by investigators.
