Two high school students arrested in Vendée, in the principal’s office

After the arrest of a schoolboy in the middle of class last week in Alfortville (Val-de-Marne), the police made two new arrests this Tuesday within a school establishment for cases of harassment. According to BFM TV, two teenagers were arrested directly in their high school located in La Roche-sur-Yon (Vendée), while they were in the principal’s office.

The two young people aged 16 and 17, first year students at the Rosa-Parks comprehensive public high school, are suspected of harassing a second year student and were placed in police custody.

“This is how we will cope with the scourge of harassment, this is how we will also protect our children, by sending these very strong messages”, defended the government spokesperson Olivier Véran after the controversy sparked by last week’s arrest. The action had been taken “in accordance with the agreement of the prosecution” and the “educational team”, he then specified.
