About three months after writing an incendiary letter about right-wing extremist incidents, the two teachers want to leave their school in Burg im Spreewald. The teacher Max Teske confirmed the corresponding media reports to the German Press Agency on Wednesday, according to which he and his colleague Laura Nickel also want to leave the right-wing scene because of hostilities.
In addition, around 30 stickers hung around the school in Burg on Wednesday. The police said that the state security service had started investigations into suspected insult, violation of the Art Copyright Act, damage to property and illegal billposting based on the images presented.
Nickel and Teske made right-wing extremist incidents at their school public in April, triggering a nationwide debate. At the time, the teachers wrote in an anonymous letter that they were confronted with right-wing extremism, sexism and homophobia on a daily basis at the school in the Spreewald. Both are to receive the “Award for civil courage against anti-Semitism, right-wing radicalism and racism” this year.
