Two migrants died and four others were injured in a road accident near Calais, in circumstances that are still unclear, we learned this Friday from reliable sources.
According to a first source close to the matter, a seriously injured person is among the four injured in this accident which took place during the night. A second source close to the case confirmed this report, specifying that the victims were migrants.
An investigation opened by the Boulogne public prosecutor’s office
According to a police source, a heavy goods vehicle hit these migrants “who were walking on the emergency lane”. “An investigation is underway, entrusted to the Boulogne-sur-Mer public prosecutor’s office,” indicated the Departmental Directorate of Public Security (DDSP) of Pas-de-Calais.
According to Bison futé, who communicated during the night, the accident occurred on the RN216 near the Calais ferry terminal. It led to the neutralization of traffic lanes for two hours.
