Two activists from Génération Identitaire sentenced to prison

Two members of the far-right group Génération Identitaire were sentenced on Thursday to terms of one year and six months in prison for their participation in a commando at the Marseille headquarters of SOS Méditerranée, an NGO helping migrants, in 2018 .

All the other defendants, 21 in total, to have participated in this punch operation which had traumatized the seven humanitarian workers present, were sentenced to suspended prison sentences. The Generation Identity movement was dissolved in March 2021 by the government.
