Twenty-two people were arrested in Marseille city of La Paternelle, its surroundings and in the Paris region as part of an investigation targeting the activities of the “Yoda” clan, the name of a powerful network of drug traffickers in the northern districts of the city, indicated the Marseille prosecutor’s office 20 minutesconfirming initial information from the JDD.
Investigators suspect these individuals of having carried out multiple armed actions to intimidate the deal points of the rival “DZ Mafia” clan. “DZ Mafia” and “Yoda” are two teams of drug traffickers engaged in a fight to the death for a little over a year. These clashes are held responsible for a large part of the almost fifty deaths in 2023 linked to drug trafficking.
These police custody periods can last up to 96 hours. A communication from Nicolas Bessone, the public prosecutor of Marseille, is planned for the weekend.
