No, it’s not about guilt, says Markus Lanz at the beginning of his talk show, dedicated to the anniversary of the flood disaster in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. But the system failure, which contributed to the 184 deaths and hundreds of injuries last July, would then interest him. One might think that Herbert Reul (CDU), then and now Minister of the Interior in North Rhine-Westphalia, would have something to say about this. Only: he doesn’t.
