Politics was the focus last night. The speech by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz met with great interest.

The speech by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the anniversary of the end of the World War in Europe on May 8, 1945 reached a fairly large audience on Sunday.

2.63 million viewers (14.4 percent) switched on the RTL news “RTL aktuell” from 6.45 p.m., where the speech was broadcast within the program. From 7.30 p.m. on ZDF it was 3.4 million (15.6 percent). In the first, the Scholz speech achieved 6.65 million (23.5 percent) from 8:20 p.m.

The SPD politician formulated the lesson of the Second World War: “We defend justice and freedom – on the side of those who were attacked. We support Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor.”

Taken individually, the primetime show with the most viewers was “Tatort” from Ludwigshafen. 7.51 million (25.3 percent) switched on the episode “Marlon” from 8:25 p.m. Germany’s longest-serving “crime scene” commissioner Lena Odenthal (Ulrike Folkerts) had to investigate the death of a nine-year-old. From 8:20 p.m., ZDF countered this with the “Herzkino” series “Ella Schön: Side jumps” with Annette Frier and Julia Richter, 3.83 million (12.9 percent) watched.

ProSieben had the US action film “Jack Reacher: No way back” with Tom Cruise and Cobie Smulders in the program, with 1.90 million (6.7 percent) spent the evening. 1.84 million (6.7 percent) watched the American science fiction film “Independence Day: Return” with Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and Liam Hemsworth on Sat.1. The RTL competition show “Ninja Warrior Germany – Allstars” reached 1.34 million (4.7 percent).

The Vox cooking show “Grill den Henssler” convinced 1.24 million (5.1 percent) to tune in. ZDFneo broadcast the capital thriller “A strong team: The Friday man” with Maja Maranow and Florian Martens, 1.06 million (3.6 percent) were there. Kabel eins attracted 780,000 people (2.7 percent) with the professional documentary “Trucker Babes – 400 hp in the hands of women”. The love drama “Like a single day” with Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams had 640,000 viewers (2.3 percent) on RTLzwei.
