The private dormitory business is booming because more and more students are moving to Munich. The landlords benefit for several reasons – insights into a market niche about which little is known.
The market for privately run dormitories is booming. The Vienna-based real estate consultancy Bonard, which specializes in accommodation for students, estimates that there were around 6,500 private places in Munich last year – in 2020 there will only be a good 5,200. With an increase of 25 percent in three years, a market niche is growing that is little known about.
