The journalist has presented the news at 7 p.m. on ZDF for decades. Retired since May, the show sometimes follows her into her dreams, she says.
The journalist Petra Gerster still sometimes dreams of the “heute” program, which she hosted for almost 23 years.
“There is a nightmare that haunts me now and then,” said the 66-year-old in an interview with the magazine “Bunte” (Thursday). “ZDF called at 6.30 p.m., an emergency, I had to come immediately and moderate“ today ”at 7 p.m. I rush into the studio and only notice when the camera turns red that I haven’t changed clothes or put on make-up, have no texts and no clue about the news. ” At this point she always wakes up “bathed in sweat”.
The journalist, who was born in Worms, came to ZDF in 1989, where she presented the women’s journal “ML Mona Lisa”. From 1998 she was in front of the camera for the main edition of the “heute” news, and on May 26th of this year she presented her last television news.
