According to several corroborating sources (The Team, RMC Sports, Provence), Igor Tudor is Pablo Longoria’s priority in this position. Aged 44, the Croatian coach, a follower of 3-4-2-1, is free of any contract after a good season with Hellas Verona, 9th in Serie A.
“Past as assistant to Juventus Turin (2020-2021 season, editor’s note), Tudor caught the eye of Longoria who is looking for a young coach with a certain philosophy of play”, reports L’Équipe. “Longoria and Tudor have already discussed at length. These discussions would have convinced Longoria that he is the man for the job”assures RMC Sport.
The two media agree that everything could now go fairly quickly in this case, the president of OM wishing “to have a coach in place at the beginning of next week”, either at the start of the summer preparation, as he himself announced at a press conference on Friday.
Note that the Igor Tudor rumor had already been mentioned by journalists Gianluca Di Marzio, Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano on Friday, just hours after the surprise departure of Jorge Sampaoli, a sign of the credibility of this track.
