If the Trojan copy was less provided offensively, Mama Baldé (see below) continued its momentum. Launched on the left side, the Guinean center forward played the Auxerre side Rayan Raveloson thanks to a double contact, before serving back Rony Lopes for the opener (28th). The same Raveloson almost redeemed himself by unleashing a powerful cross shot at the entrance to the area, but Gauthier Gallon was saved by his amount (56th).
Apart from that, AJ Auxerre took a long time to initiate moves offensively. Symbol of this shyness: the Yonne players waited until the 83rd minute to frame their first strike of the game. Lacking technical accuracy, like their striker Gaëtan Charbonnier, clumsy on several checks and deviations, the Auxerrois failed to materialize their presence in the locals’ camp in the second half.
Christophe Pelissier’s men nevertheless showed self-sacrifice. Thanks to a nice double contact on the left side which dropped off Rayan Raveloson, Baldé was able to serve back Rony Lopes for the opener for Troyes (28th). We could blame him for his missed opportunity in added time against Costil, but Baldé was one of the only attacking players to show creativity.
