How do you manage to stand out at huge festivals like the Berlinale with its hundreds of films? Few people know this better than French producer Philippe Bober, who lives and works in Berlin. The 59-year-old has paved the way for some of today’s most important filmmakers, mostly as a producer and international film marketer at the same time. He allows himself radical quality standards – and knows like no other the secret fields of force that work between film artists, audiences, festivals and funding bodies. His last hit was “Triangle of Sadness”, together with director Ruben Östlund. The film won the Palme d’Or in Cannes, won the European Film Awards and is currently nominated for three Oscars.
