He put a rope around the neck of a tied 20-year-old during sex – she suffocated. The question in court now is whether the woman’s death was a murder or an accident.

A 22-year-old man has denied in court that he deliberately strangled a woman during sex. At the start of the trial on Wednesday in Aachen, however, the indictment accused the man of an insidious murder to satisfy his sexual instinct. The man tied the hands of his 20-year-old victim behind the back with duct tape during sex and then wrapped polyester tape around the woman’s neck much too tight, the prosecutor said. As a result, she suffocated.

The two young people met in early May in the 20-year-old’s apartment. During the sexual intercourse, the 22-year-old took a long polyester tape and wrapped it tightly around the neck of the already tied woman, according to the indictment. Then he fixed it with a double knot.

Judge accuses the defendant of different statements

When he became aware of the danger, he tried to untie the tape, the defendant alleged in court. He didn’t think of a knife in his backpack. However, the presiding judge kept reproaching the 22-year-old for having described the events in the police interrogations very differently.

After the woman was dead, he stole several valuables and his victim’s car, the 22-year-old admitted. A few days later he was arrested by the police. The chamber has four more days scheduled until November 10 for the trial.
