A 55-year-old fisherman died on Wednesday following a fishing accident off Roscoff, north of Finistère. The professional would have been trapped in a net, reports the Atlantic Maritime Prefecture. His boat had been spotted making circles in the water with no one visible on board, around 7:10 a.m. Emergency services were then immediately called.
Sailors working in the area were the first to arrive. They discovered the unconscious victim on board. But neither they nor the rescuers who arrived later managed to resuscitate her. An investigation has been opened to understand what could have happened.
