Transfers: PSG insists on Milan Skriniar (Inter Milan)

While Christophe Galtier clearly demanded a central defender, Wednesday evening, after PSG’s victory in Toulouse (3-0), the capital club made an offer of €50 million (+10 bonus) to buy the last year of Milan Skriniar’s contract.

But Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio, the two technical directors of the Lombard club, stuck to their guns and rejected the Parisian offer. Less than twenty-four hours from the end of the transfer window, they do not want to hear about the departure of their Slovak international defender (27), especially since they too are looking for a player in this position to expand their squad.

The president of Inter wants 80 M€

Faced with repeated refusals from the interist sports management, PSG, through its president Nasser al-Khelaïfi, is now talking directly with the president of Inter, Steven Zhang. The Parisian boss had initially hinted that he would not increase his offer and would wait until January 1, 2023 to have Skriniar without paying any compensation since he would be free six months later.

This argument was experienced as a veiled threat by Zhang, who would have decided to do everything possible to obtain a contract extension from the Slovak international. What he hasn’t gotten yet. Could the Chinese president of Inter Milan then give in to the next proposals from Al-Khelaïfi, even if it means angering his sports management? A new offer could fall in the middle of the day. It is now between the two bosses that the negotiation is played out. Zhang wants €80m.
