Transfer from Hack to Gladbach official: Bielefeld receives millions in transfer fee despite being relegated to the third division

Robin Hack’s transfer to Borussia Mönchengladbach is official. The 24-year-old is leaving Arminia Bielefeld after two years and has signed a contract with the “foals” until June 30, 2027.

Market value of Robin Hack

The reason for this is the unclear contractual situation at the time of the negotiations, which have been going on for months. Hack could have left Bielefeld for a fixed fee of 2.5 million euros, but no club was willing to make this payment because relegation and the associated obligation to pay nothing seemed realistic. Even before the relegation duels with SV Wehen Wiesbaden, Gladbach agreed with the DSC according to the “Picture” to a transfer fee of EUR 1.1 million, which can increase to EUR 1.25 million through bonuses.

“Robin Hack is a dynamic and prolific attacking player who already has a lot of first and second division experience. His personal development over the past few years has been good and we still see a lot of potential in him. We are therefore pleased that he has decided to join Borussia,” says Borussia’s sporting director, Roland Virkus.

Hack himself, who scored eleven goals and nine assists in 37 appearances for Bielefeld last season, added: “I’m extremely happy to be here. I can’t wait to play at BORUSSIA-PARK and celebrate victories with the fans.”
