Film fans also get their money’s worth at the Super Bowl: new film trailers are shown there. This time from the third “Deadpool” with Ryan Reynolds, in which another superstar plays a role.

With the Trailer for the third “Deadpool” film, new details about one of the cinema highlights of the year were released at the Super Bowl. As it was announced on Monday, the title of the Marvel film starring Ryan Reynolds has now been determined: “Deadpool & Wolverine”. This suggests that Hugh Jackman, in his signature role as Wolverine, will probably have a larger role in the film. Reynolds (47) and Jackman (55) are friends and often joke publicly about their film roles. Deadpool & Wolverine is the only Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film scheduled to be released this year. The German cinema release is July 24th.

Reynolds portrayed the antihero Wade Wilson (aka Deadpool) in a black and red costume in “Deadpool” (2016) and “Deadpool 2” (2018). The new trailer begins with a birthday party for Wilson. This is disturbed by unexpected guests: the “Time Variance Authority” (TVA for short), who Marvel fans know from the series “Loki”. They recruit Deadpool for a job.

As is usual with the “Deadpool” series, the scenes are peppered with ironic comments and action. Deadpool, for example, describes himself as “Marvel Jesus”. He is likely to meet various characters from previous Marvel films in the film.

Other trailers were also shown during commercial breaks during the Super Bowl show. For example, from the fourth part of the “Planet of the Apes” series or the remake of “Wicked” with Ariana Grande.
