Horse-drawn carriage brings Christmas tree to White House

While all eyes in the USA are still on Thanksgiving, Christmas is casting its shadow ahead. Jill Biden got a celebratory delivery to the White House. Green was the dominant color.
The First Lady of the USA, Jill Biden, has the Christmas tree for the White House received. The approximately 5.60 meter high fir tree was traditionally delivered by horse and carriage to the north entrance of the US government headquarters in Washington on Monday. The tree comes from the state of North Carolina.
Biden, who wore a pine green coat, was accompanied by military families, including many children. She stroked a horse and examined the tree. This was “great,” she said, and wished everyone a happy Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is celebrated in the USA this Thursday.
Since 1966, the National Christmas Tree Association in the USA has held a Christmas tree competition. The winner then gets to deliver the official Christmas tree to the White House. The tree is traditionally placed in the Blue Room. The arrival of the Christmas tree marks the beginning of the festive season in the USA.
