11:20 a.m. – Back to the first big collective fall of the Tour 2023 yesterday at the start of the 14th stage. Impressive video thanks to on-board cameras. As a reminder, seven runners retired following this fall including Louis Meintjes. Romain Bardet and James Shaw fell 20 kilometers later and were both forced to throw in the towel. There are 158 riders left in the race.
11:05 a.m. – 💬 A distinguished guest at the microphone of France Bleu Pays de Savoie live from the departure village in Les Gets! Bernard Thevenet, double winner of the Tour de France, gave us his vision of the race and in particular of the spectacular duel between Pogacar and Vingegaard. “This Tour de France is extraordinary, I don’t remember having seen such a fight between two riders so close in the general classification. Vingegaard and Pogacar both have a very good team, especially that of Pogacar, which has strengthened in the off-season. Both teams are really balanced now.” admires Bernard Thévenet.

10:30 a.m. – What sauce will the runners be cooked with during this 15th step
? We take a close look at the profile of today’s stage: 179km between Les Gets Les Portes du Soleil and Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc, 3 passes, a climb and a summit finish. The peloton will go through the Forclaz de Montmin pass (1,157 meters above sea level and 7.2 km at 7.3%), then they will have to climb three passes in a row: the Croix Fry pass (11.3 km at 7%), that of La Praise and the Col des Aravis.
Do you want more ? So imagine that they will only be two-thirds of the way through! They will then have to face the Côte des Amerands (2.7 km at 11.1%), just after Domancy, to finish with an altitude finish, in Saint-Gervais: 1,372 meters above sea level, 7.2 km at 7, 7%.

10:15 a.m. – 👁🗨 The 15th stage leaves Les Gets (Haute-Savoie) this Sunday morning, and this is a first for this ski resort, world famous for mountain biking. A round of the Mountain Bike World Cup will take place there from September 6 to 10.
10:08 – 🕐 We make a point on the general classification before the start of the 15th stage, Pogacar and Vingegaard still neck and neck, Carlos Rodriguez climbs on the podium thanks to his victory in Morzine, the French lose several more minutes.

9:57 – One of the images of the day before is this attack by Tadej Pogacar in a crucial passage of the climb to the Col de Joux-Plane. The Slovenian thinks he can leave the yellow jersey Jonas Vingegaard behind but he finds himself blocked by a photographer’s motorbike and a television motorbike, themselves hampered by the large crowd present on the edges of the road. Vingegaard took advantage of this hesitation to go on the attack in turn, take the lead at the top and pocket the 8 bonus seconds. Pogacar and his UAE team did not want to get involved in the controversy. Much harsher analysis for Adam Hansen, president of the riders’ union for whom “motorcycles have always had an influence on racing and today they have stolen seconds“.
In the evening, the jury of commissioners excluded the two motorcycles for this 15th stage, which were fined 500 Swiss francs.
9:50 am – It was therefore Carlos Rodriguez (Ineos Grenadiers) who won yesterday in Morzine during the 14th stage. The Spaniard took advantage of the Tadej Pogacar – Jonas Vingegaard duel to race towards victory. These two have still not managed to decide frankly in the race for the yellow jersey. The Dane managed to take 1 second from the Slovenian yesterday, the gap being 10 seconds this morning between the two leaders. This 15th stage is therefore a new opportunity for Pogacar and Vingegaard to strike a blow.
