Bernard Thevenet, double winner of the Tour de France, gave us his vision of the race and in particular of the spectacular duel between Pogacar and Vingegaard. “This Tour de France is extraordinary, I don’t remember having seen such a fight between two riders so close in the general classification. Vingegaard and Pogacar both have a very good team, especially that of Pogacar, which has strengthened in the off-season. Both teams are really balanced now.” admires Bernard Thévenet.

The former champ”hope that there will be the same fight today as yesterday but without them succeeding in deciding, it’s good for the suspense!he laughs. It looks like they’re both on exactly the same level of fitness. If one of the two has an advantage over the other, he will not hesitate to attack, even from afar“. Bernard Thévenet savors this duel between Pogacar and Vingegaard, a sign according to him of the return of a “instinctive, old-school, less programmed cycling“.

Christian Prudhomme, boss of the Tour de France, gives us his analysis of the 15th stage:

10:25 a.m. – We have already seen it on the edges of the road during yesterday’s stage, there are a lot of people in the two Savoies! And inevitably with the passage of the Tour de France, there are restrictions on the road. To find out everything and not get stuck, France Bleu takes stock of your traffic conditions in this article
.

10:15 a.m. – 👁‍🗨 The 15th stage leaves Les Gets (Haute-Savoie) this Sunday morning, and this is a first for this ski resort, world famous for mountain biking. A round of the Mountain Bike World Cup will take place there from September 6 to 10.

10:08 – 🕐 We make a point on the general classification before the start of the 15th stage, Pogacar and Vingegaard still neck and neck, Carlos Rodriguez climbs on the podium thanks to his victory in Morzine, the French lose several more minutes.

1. Jonas Vingegaard (DEN/TJV) 57:47:28.
2. Tadej Pogacar (SLO / UAD) at 10.
3. Carlos Rodríguez (ESP/IGD) 4:43.
4. Jai Hindley (AUS/BOH) 4:44.
5. Adam Yates (GBR/UAD) 5:20.
6. Sepp Kuss (USA/TJV) 8:15.
7. Simon Yates (GBR/JAY) 8:32.
8. Pello Bilbao (ESP/TBV) 8:51.
9. Felix Gall (AUT/ACT) 12:26.
10. David Gaudu (FRA/GFC) 12:56.
11. Thomas Pidcock (GBR/IGD) 14:22.
12. Guillaume Martin (FRA/COF) 16:50.
13. Emanuel Buchmann (GER/BOH) 21:21.
14. Thibaut Pinot (FRA / GFC) 23:02.
15. Mikel Landa (ESP/TBV) 25:38.

9:57 – One of the images of the day before is this attack by Tadej Pogacar in a crucial passage of the climb to the Col de Joux-Plane. The Slovenian thinks he can leave the yellow jersey Jonas Vingegaard behind but he finds himself blocked by a photographer’s motorbike and a television motorbike, themselves hampered by the large crowd present on the edges of the road. Vingegaard took advantage of this hesitation to go on the attack in turn, take the lead at the top and pocket the 8 bonus seconds. Pogacar and his UAE team did not want to get involved in the controversy. Much harsher analysis for Adam Hansen, president of the riders’ union for whom “motorcycles have always had an influence on racing and today they have stolen seconds“.

In the evening, the jury of commissioners excluded the two motorcycles for this 15th stage, which were fined 500 Swiss francs.

9:50 am – It was therefore Carlos Rodriguez (Ineos Grenadiers) who won yesterday in Morzine during the 14th stage. The Spaniard took advantage of the Tadej Pogacar – Jonas Vingegaard duel to race towards victory. These two have still not managed to decide frankly in the race for the yellow jersey. The Dane managed to take 1 second from the Slovenian yesterday, the gap being 10 seconds this morning between the two leaders. This 15th stage is therefore a new opportunity for Pogacar and Vingegaard to strike a blow.

The recap of the stage with Marie Ameline, journalist from France Bleu who makes us live the Tour de France:

9:45 a.m. – Hello and welcome to this new live! We hope you have recovered from the emotions of the day before because we promise you just as much adrenaline today. This 15th stage between Les Gets and Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc promises to be just as daunting as the stage the day before.
