Florian Grillitsch wants to leave Hoffenheim next summer and look for a new challenge. There are many interested parties.

The race for Hoffenheim’s defensive all-rounder Florian Grilltisch is picking up speed. As Sky has reported next to numerous Italian top clubs also Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in the 26-year-old. Spurs coach Antonio Conte is said to be looking for reinforcements in the midfield center.

The Austrian Grillitsch’s contract with the Kraichgauer expires at the end of the season. Coach Sebastian Hoeneß relies entirely on the 33-time national player, but not in midfield, but as the central player in the three-man defense chain. Nevertheless, it seems unlikely that the journey together will continue in the coming season.

Switch to Tottenham? Hoffenheims Grillitsch wants to “take the next step”

A few weeks ago Grillitsch himself said: “Now I’ll be staying with Hoffenheim for another year, will fulfill my contract and think that I’ll take the next step in the summer.”

Grillitsch moved from Werder Bremen to Hoffenheim in the summer of 2017. Since then, he has played 145 competitive games for the club, including six games in the Champions League.

In addition to Tottenham, the top Italian clubs AS Roma, SSC Napoli and AC Milan were recently traded as possible new employers for Grillitsch. In addition to the Austrian, Hoffenheim is also threatened with the loss of top performers Kevin Vogt, Chris Richards and Andrej Kramaric. The contracts of all three players also expire in the summer, but Richards is only loaned from Bayern anyway.
