Alexey Pertsev, the developer behind Tornado Cash, will remain in detention until his next trial on April 21, according to a Dutch court decision.
Additionally, a pre-trial review will take place on May 24, according to the East Brabant court handling the case.
Previously, authorities in the Netherlands arrested Pertsev in August. This comes after US authorities sanctioned Tornado Cash, a transaction hiding service that allows users to hide the details of their transactions. The U.S. Treasury accused Tornado Cash — a “money laundering for malicious cybercriminals,” including funds stolen through hacks by groups believed to be related to North Korea.
This is the third time Pertsev’s appeal has been rejected since August. And he was still detained for three months at a time. His last appeal was rejected in November.
