Now it’s “fingers off” in Germany too. In February, Netflix will launch the first European spin-off of Too Hot to Handle.

Netflix has announced the launch date of Too Hot to Handle: Germany. The German version of the successful US dating show will start on February 28, 2023. The streaming service announced this in a press release. Following spin-offs in Latin America and Brazil, this is the first European version of the English-language original, which recently entered its fourth season.

“Too Hot to Handle”: This is how the show works

At first glance, “Too Hot to Handle” does not differ from popular dating shows à la “Love Island” or “Paradise Hotel”: ten young, attractive singles board a tropical resort together. There should form pairs. But while touching and sexual acts are more desirable in the usual formats, they are strictly forbidden here. “Hands off!” That’s why the US program was also called in Germany.

At the end of the season, participants can win a jackpot of 200,000 euros. But the prize money only stays if women and men keep their hands off each other. If there are amorous contacts between the candidates, money will be deducted. In the original, a French kiss costs $3,000, and sexual intercourse even costs $20,000. By the way, masturbation is also forbidden.

The aim of these measures is to drill the singles into building a deeper relationship with one another. In the course of the season there are also corresponding workshops.
