Hollywood star Tom Hanks is shooting for his next leading role soon. He will appear in the comedy A Man Called Otto.

Tom Hanks (65) is currently preparing for his next leading role. A Man Called Otto will begin filming in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in February. This is reported by the industry portal “Deadline”. The comedy is said to be a remake of the Swedish film “A Man Called Ove”, which is based on the bestseller of the same name by Fredrik Backman (40).

An unequal friendship

Hanks will play eponymous grumpy widower Otto, who forms an unlikely friendship with his new neighbors. In addition to the star, Mariana Treviño (44), Rachel Keller (29) and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (40) will also be seen.

Marc Forster (52) will direct. The script was written by David Magee (60), who previously worked with Forster on “Finding Neverland”. The producer team also includes Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson (65). The industry portal had already reported in 2017that the Hollywood star should take on the leading role in the project.
