Titanic: Unreleased Footage Shows First Discovery From 1986 (Video)

Watch the video: Previously unreleased footage shows Titanic at first discovery.

STORY: These film recordings are from the year 1986 but have only now been published. They show first impressions of the wreck of the legendary luxury liner “Titanic”, which hit an iceberg and sank on its maiden voyage in 1912 from Southampton to New York. Of the estimated 2,223 passengers on board, 1,517 died. For more than 70 years the wreck was searched for in vain. Until it was finally discovered in 1985. And the following year, the research submarine “Alvin” made its first observations of the sunken ship, which lies at a depth of around 3,800 meters and has burst several times. The footage has now been released to mark the 25th anniversary of James Cameron’s Oscar-winning film Titanic.
