Tiny House: Everything a classic house has – district of Munich

Because his stand construction company did not have any orders during the pandemic, Thorsten Hörner switched to tiny houses. About a way of living that meets the trend of the times.

The Tiny House is square, practical – and “something like a micro-house”, says Thorsten Hörner, who wants to build small, flexible residential units and garden offices with his Sauerlach-based company “M3Living”. But the idea did not come to the 53-year-old by chance. He actually heads the Heilmaier Messedesign company, also based in Sauerlach, which designs concepts for trade fairs. It has been in existence for three generations, since 1946. “We once had well over 20 employees,” says Hörner. But since one trade fair after the other was canceled during the corona pandemic, short-time work was announced early on. “In May of last year, it quickly became clear that things couldn’t go on like this,” says the entrepreneur. So a different business model had to be found. Hörner drummed up his team for a small collection of ideas. What can we do? Tiny houses, the thought seemed to ignite.
