Actor Til Schweiger missed the premiere of his new film due to food poisoning. The 57-year-old announced this on Instagram. There he previously posted a video while eating oysters.

He will probably not forget this premiere anytime soon: Actor Til Schweiger published a video on his Instagram account in which he is sitting in a restaurant with his daughters Luna and Emma. A plate with several oysters is on the table in front of them. “I’ve never eaten an oyster in my life. Now I’ve let you chop me up,” says Schweiger after he drizzled some lemon on the seafood. He says to his daughters: “Your mother cost me a fortune because she always wanted to eat oysters.” The 57-year-old was married to the American model Dana Schweiger from 1995 to 2005.

Til Schweiger eats an oyster for the first time

Finally, Schweiger sips the oyster, then grimaces and rinses it off with a sip of alcohol. “Not good?” Asks his daughter Luna. The actor replies: “Nah, so fishy. How can you eat something like that voluntarily?” But apparently it wasn’t just the idiosyncratic taste that Schweiger didn’t get.

One day after visiting a restaurant, he wrote an Instagram story that he had upset his stomach and was lying flat. “The doctor suspects food poisoning,” said Schweiger. Particularly annoying for the actor and director: he cannot appear for the premiere of his new film “The Rescue of the World We Know”. It takes place on Tuesday evening in Essen. In the film, Schweiger took over the direction again and played the leading role at the same time. The film will be released in German cinemas on November 11th.

It is not yet clear whether Til Schweiger’s food poisoning is related to eating oysters. Because his youngest daughter Emma, who also stars in the film, seems to be fit.
