Three young people indicted for the murder of Lucas in Cugnaux

Many mysteries still surround the disappearance of Lucas, a young man aged 20, near Portet-sur-Garonne, near Toulouse. If his disappearance was quickly reported to the extent that he had not returned to his home on the evening of January 19, the murder trail was quickly and seriously considered by the police. The investigation revealed the involvement of three young men, aged 19 to 21, in the affair.

The victim’s car was found burnt out, the day after his disappearance, in Cardeilhac, in Haute-Garonne. Research quickly showed that “third parties had clearly been involved in the disappearance of the victim”, indicates the Toulouse public prosecutor in a press release.

A case involving drug trafficking

The investigation then focused on the two friends with whom Lucas had spent the evening, as well as a third person, seen by the neighborhood the same evening, around 10 p.m., behind the wheel of the victim’s car.

If the precise reasons for the actions of the three men remain to be clarified, the trail of a debt linked to drug trafficking seems more than plausible according to the prosecutor. In fact, the three accused were known for drug trafficking. One also wore an electronic bracelet on his ankle due to an old conviction.

The three young men were referred this morning to the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office, to be presented to an investigating judge for indictment for acts of murder by an organized gang and destruction of property by fire. All three are currently in pre-trial detention. The case is still ongoing.
